. . Good Golly, Ms. Molly ( or better yet, Ms. Sprinkle ) it has been quite the time since I have read an entry from you. . Hoping everyone is very well & all is going smoothly
My pitpull, Cledus, has become rather skilled at escaping from his pen, constantly forcing us to find new and inventive ways to keep him in high security doggy prison. He's in the house a few hours a day, and when it's time to go out for the night, he's a really good sport. He goes right out and gets in and waits patiently for you to catch up and secure the door. But, later, he literally muscles the door of the pen open and comes up to the house. Non e of this would be such a problem except that my neighbors are scared to death of him. I'm not sure why. He has never shown any aggression towards anything ecept a shovel or garden rake and he is fairly well trained. But just the same, I respect that they are scared of my dog and don't want to be near him...I understand that, I'm not a dog person myself, but I am very good with them.
So, I am faced with getting rid of him.
I am very creative when it comes to thinking of ways to keep him in his pen, but he is equally creative at thinking of ways to get out. He's smarter than I would have given a pitbull credit for. He's good at problem solving, retrieveing and searching. My daughter even has him jumping through hoops lol. So, for now, we've got his door chained shut...not practical if I need to get to him in a hurry. Soon he will learn to dig out.
So. I finally got my garden tilled up. I had a man with a tractor come do it lol. We have some very tough soil. Now, I need to face the torture that is wal-mart and get my seeds. I also turned over a few spots out from for a small flovwer garden. All I have planted before is some daylillyies, daffodils, gladiolies and iris's. This is the first year in three of having my iris's bloom. Not quite bloomed yet, but getting there.
I haven't been able to find any road kill yet either lol.
